Brothers of AlphaEast, In accordance with Article III, §2.3 of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity – Constitution, the leadership of the Eastern Region is pleased to present this official Convention Call (http://convention.alphaeast.com/convention-call) for the 82nd Annual Eastern Region Convention of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, to be held April 24 – April 27, 2014 in Baltimore, Maryland. There are countless activities occurring during this generation which implore action, intervention and leadership from the men of the old gold and black. Our focus during this gathering will be "Reconciling Leadership & Brotherhood" and how the principles of these two tenets will be of assistance as we propel our organization forward. Specifically, we will focus on providing experience and bonding to develop leaders, empowering and energizing to promote Brotherhood, training and mentoring to promote academic excellence and organizing and networking to provide service and advocacy to our communities. It is apropos for this congregation of Eastern Region Brotherhood to be held in the "City of Neighborhoods" with the Hilton Baltimore serving as our host hotel. Socially, one will be pleased with the variety of options available for shopping, site-seeing or pleasure seeking, as we’ll be a stone’s throw from the Camden Yards sports complex (Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium), and walking distance from Harborplace (a.k.a., the Inner Harbor), the Baltimore Convention Center, Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the Power Plant, along with numerous nightclubs, bars & restaurants, shopping centers and various other attractions.
